FASHION giant Prada SpA has negotiated a three-year loan agreement of 360 million Euros to refinance a long-standing debt and to propel the company’s retail growth.

“Prada is currently undergoing a very positive sales growth, and I believe that by 2013 the return of the company’s retail investment will outdo this loan, especially with today’s cost of money” said Intercorporate vice president  Armando Branchini to WWD.

Expansion is the brand’s top priority, with plans for 30 new stores opening this year and a focus on Asia-Pacific.  Currently, Prada has 280 units in 76 countries.

“We are also strengthening our presence in Europe with openings in Frankfurt, Prague, Berlin and Lisbon” added Prada spokesperson Stefano Cantino.

The company’s debt, totalling 640 million Euros, accumulated in the Nineties through the acquisition of brands such as Jil Sander, Helmut Lang and a stake in fashion house Fendi. Prada SpA is valued at between three and four billion Euros, a valuation that could increase even further in the coming 18 months.

The version that I fell in love with was baby blue, dove grey and white, but for our purposes, this incarnation with have to suffice. All of the patterns used for these bags were found by Prada’s designers in the brand’s archives, and they’ve been reinterpreted to adorn the collection that we see today. They have a painted, imperfect effect that only makes the bags look more hand-crafted and luxurious, and the gentle texture of the structured, tough saffiano leather underneath is almost reminiscent of a canvas.

While the pattern may prevent these bags from being carried everyday for most people, for those that have the wardrobes and budgets to accommodate one of Prada’s spring prints, please buy one. Something in the back of my mind is telling me that these are going to be highly sought-after classics a few years down the line, and the decision to get one is not something I think you’ll regret.

I say a lot more negative things about Prada bags than I say positive, but I promise that I don’t have anything particular against the handbags brand(Prada). In fact, my first “designer” bag was a Prada crossbody bags, and I still have fond memories of it.

They’ve been doing more wrong than right in most of their high-profile bags lately, but they still make some great stuff that doesn’t grab as many headlines. Actually, “particularly taken” would be an understatement of my feelings. I’m in love with it – deep, inconvenient, all-encompassing love that I didn’t expect to find for a Prada replica bag. In my heart, that kind of love is usually reserved for Balenciaga or Valentino.

Please believe me when I say that the pictures don’t do this bag any sort of justice. I saw it in smooth black leather, which was ridiculously rich and perfect for this sort of oversized, take-anywhere, day-to-night clutch. It struck me as the sort of bag you’d look at and be able to tell that it was expensive, even if it had no logo. I’ll admit that it looks a bit boring in photos, but in your hand, it’s a great bag.

When I opened it up, I was even more pleased. The slightly retro, structured closure stands open to reveal a leather-lined interior (the black version has red, which is much more exciting than the taupe inside of the cream-colored version) with several pockets and enough space to hold more or less everything that you could put in a medium-sized shoulder bag. You probably wouldn’t want to fill it that full, but a little extra space in a clutch is never a bad thing.

Overall, I think I may have found the perfect clutch for me, and it was in one of the most unexpected places. Perhaps it was a cosmic reminder that in fashion, you should never count anyone out completely.

You know, I’ve always secretly wanted to have an amazing, unbelievably amazing briefcase. This thought usually comes up when I pseudo dream of being some high powered executive perhaps working in a city like New York City.

You know how the movies portray things. Everyone walks fast, walks with a purpose, walks with power… oh and they all look fabulous. I was instantly reminded of this when I came across the Prada Ivory Saffiano Bi-Fold Zip Briefcase Replica.

Now, what I am trying to figure out is if this bag is meant for a man or a woman. I am sure there are a few men out here that could pull this off, yet I am thinking most men would opt for black or brown instead of white. With the given measurements, do you think this would be too large for a woman to carry? No matter what the case might be, this briefcase is beyond fabulous and I hope someone picks it up. Prada Releases Retrospective Book Commemorating Three Decades of Fashion and Innovation

It’s done fashion handbags, architecture, art, and cinema. Now European design giant Prada will turn its hand to the printed page.

The stylish handbag brand is set to release retrospective coffee table book looking back at its 30 years of design innovation. Simply titled Prada (what else?), this is no light read at a monster 706 pages. I suppose the label has achieved a lot over the last three decades, but I hate to think how heavy this tome will be. It definitely doesn’t sound like something to pack in your suitcase for your Christmas vacation!

“For Prada handbags, fashion bags, luxury bags and style go beyond producing an infinity of clothes and shoes, so the book wants to illustrate the various aspects through which Prada expresses itself,” explained Patrizio Bertelli, chief executive officer of the Prada Group.
The book, published by Prada Progetto Arte, will soon hit Prada flagships stores around the world, selected bookstores, and bagsbrand.com. Considering its monster size, the compendium is remarkably good value at 100 Euros.

I love patent leather handbags. In fact, I would say I’m pretty much obsessed with patent leather. Something about patent leather is just so edgy, but yet sexy to me. Regular leather can be so boring sometimes, and I see patent leather as the “more” fun version of leather.

What really catches my eye about patent leather is the shininess of it. I always thought regular leather can be so dull looking, then you have patent leather that has that shiny sparkle to it.

I currently have two patent leather handbags, that I take very good care of. I will admit though, patent leather is really high maintenance.

The best way to take care of a patent leather handbag, is to simply not use them as everyday bag. I say this for two reasons: Patent Leather loses it shine after a while when used everyday and it also scratches very easily. One little scratch on the leather and it’s there forever. If you aren’t the type of person that is extra careful with your handbags, then it’s probably not in your best interest to get a patent leather handbag.

On the other hand, patent leather is very easy to clean. If you ever spill soda, or get food on the bag you can easily clean it! Soda or food would normally stain a canvas or light leather handbag. With patent leather, you can easily clean the leather with a wash cloth, water, and some soap.

Patent leather has it’s pro’s and con’s, but it looks amazing on a handbag. If you don’t have a patent leather handbag I suggest buying one and I promise you’ll never regret it!
