We keep talking about spring trends in handbags, clearly there are many. We have brought you stories on denim and perforated leather, and today I will tell you about another trend; floral patterns. Typically we would cover this Coach bag on PurseBlog Savvy, but I actually wanted to feature this on PurseBlog.

Coach bags receive quite a bit of flack from many handbag enthusiasts. And while this may be the case, Coach continues to be the brand that starts many people’s handbag obsession on their way into other brands while remaining the go-to brand for many as well. In fact, my first bag was a Coach bag.

In the past few years I have loved the direction Coach has taken. The collection is so diverse, it is easy to find a bag that suits different tastes and wants. Here we are with the Coach Madison Floral Audrey and I am in love. I am not typically drawn to floral print bags, but with spring around the corner as I see more floral prints I also realize how much I would love one.

The combination is romantic, with the feminine colorful floral printed canvas being accented with gold metallic leather trim. I just bought a new floral printed pillow cover for our couch from Williams Sonoma that reminds me of this bag. I keep staring at the pillow and realizing that I can no longer fight my old aversion to floral prints, I now embrace it.

Another reason I love the idea of this bag is because it is a trendier style that you may not wear year round, so it is perfect not to spend thousands on a trend. Dimensions are 11.5 L x 8.25 H x 6.5 W. Also, there is both top handles and a detachable shoulder strap.

We don’t talk a lot about Coach handbags on this blog, and maybe that’s an oversight on our part. What better way to start correcting it, then, than by talking about the line of bags named after yours truly (ok, well, they’re not necessarily named after me. But I came first. So there.)? The Amanda Satin Mini Satchel is, by my standards at least, kinda cute. There are disadvantages to using a material like satin (snagging!), but the advantage that Coach handbags has realized is that it takes vivid color much better than almost any kind of leather. You get a sheen and brightness with satin that you don’t usually find in a replica handbag, and in small doses (this satchel is “mini,” after all) it can be a beautiful addition to an ensemble. I wouldn’t suggest buying a massive satin handbag, but something petite and bright could potentially be a lot of fun, methinks. Particularly at such a friendly price point.

Sandra Bullock teams up with Coach for Charity
Sandra Bullock, who recently donated $1 million to the relief efforts in Haiti, has teamed up with Coach handbags to benefit another one of her favorite charities: the Beauty Bus Foundation.

The Beauty Bus Foundation is a non profit organization that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for home-bound, terminally or chronically ill patients and their caregivers. “We provide in-home beauty and grooming treatments, free of charge, to empower our clients, help them maintain dignity and give them respite during a difficult time. Our mission is to reach out to these compromised and isolated individuals and bring beauty into their lives in the comfort of their homes.”

When you purchase one of Sandra’s favorite picks, the Madison Tote (left) or Kristin (right), Coach will donate a percent to the charity.

Coach Signature Brown Purse | Small & Authentic Hamptons Hobo Style Shoulder Bag

This Signature Coach Hamptons Purse is currently the best selling Coach handbag on Amazon beating around 100 Coach Purses for the top position.

This is quite a small & cute signature shoulder bag at 9.5 inches long and 6 inches tall making it the perfect size for a night out, or for carrying your essentials around town.

This new Coach Signature bag is dressed in the detailed stitching style of the new Hamptons range.

It also features dark brown/reddish snakeskin and suede leather stripes showcasing the recognizable “C” of the Coach brand which works well against the soft black leather corners containing the detailed contrast white stitching.

This is a hobo style bag which is characterized by its crescent shape and has the typical soft and supple feel that you would expect from hobo purses.

Coach Resort Op Art Wristlet | Cute Graphic-Print Feminine Wallet

The Op Art print is one of my favorite Coach fabric designs. Bright, colorful, and just in time for the optical print trend sweeping the catwalks this fall/winter.

If you have been searching for an accessible, attractive and pint-sized wristlet to house your loose change and vital belongings, this may just fit the bill. It works as a feminine wallet too, being just the right size for slipping inside your bigger tote.

The print, in it’s patriotic coloring, is fast becoming a Coach brand signature. With the deep navy leather trim, it really is a sexy and slightly nautical style. It is nice to see a brand where the brand-name is a little cute scribble, and isn’t plastered across the front in maximum-sized font.

Sexy, high-fashion and more than a little bit fun. Get on the Coach designer brandwagon with this surprisingly affordable Op Art wristlet.

Coach Soho Ocelot Clutch | Folded Buckled Leopard-Print Wallet

Half stylish wallet, half compact clutch, this Coach Soho purse is a great combination of function and looks for the lady who lunches.

Style wise, this colorful purse happily embraces many of the popular trends that have haunted the catwalks all year. Namely, Coach bag has decorated the lower half of this bold wallet in a ever-popular leopard print fabric, whilst keeping the fold-over top half in block print pink suede.

It’s an unusual combination perhaps, but Coach ensures this Soho ocelot clutch is kept from going over-the-top by the chestnut leather trim. This sophisticated and more traditional feature reigns in the wild pastel pink and contrasting leopard print, tying them together with a common theme. It’s still a little garish perhaps, but at least coordinated throughout!

Lined in satin, Coach bag really has gone all out to make this stylish yet functional wallet luxurious through and through. From the antique brass oversized hardware to the sumptuous exterior and visible stitching, this buckled clutch put in a lot of effort to keep your attention. For me personally there is simply too much going on, but for the right person I am sure this will press all the right buttons!

Target Sold a Fake Coach Purse. Gets Sued!

Target was just slapped with a new lawsuit by Coach Inc., accusing them of selling unauthorized reproductions of their handbags. This is the second time within three years that Coach has taken Target to court over the same intellectual property issue.

The bags mentioned in the lawsuit are Coach’s famous Ergo and Signature Patchwork purse collection.

Coach Penelope Leather Shopper

Cobalt. As mentioned by fellow blogger brs, it’s the blue to go for this spring as it seems like every brand right now is flaunting their version. For the past couple of seasons or so, something really different is going on over at Coach Headquarters… and I love it! Their changes are great and they can clearly be seen among their collections. One of the brands latest is the Penelope line. With its surprising colors and new silhouettes; Coach handbag is really brings “new” to the table. I’ll admit that I’ve been cautious of some of Coach’s logoed stuff, but I never feared their leather goods, and the Penelope Leather Shopper leaves no exceptions. Who knew pebbled and patent leather could look so good together? Coach seemed to pull it off as the combination is pleasant rather than busy. My favorites things about this shopper: the choice of hues, the minimal silver hardware, and the pretty feminine ruffles found decoring its upper body. If only this shopper lost the handle studs and the leaf-shaped zipper pull, then I would adore this piece even more! Measuring in at 13” x 8” x 4” you can find this newbie carrying a very reasonable price tag of $348

Coach Sues Target for Copyright Infringement | Retail Chain Sells “Confusingly Similar” Purses

coach2Luxury handbag label Coach has filed a lawsuit against Target, alleging that the retail giant has infringed upon its intellectual copyright.

In a lawsuit lodged at the United States District Court in Manhattan last Thursday, Coach claims Target is selling handbags “confusingly similar” to its Ergo and Signature Patchwork collections.

“Target is not authorized by Coach bags to manufacture, distribute, advertise, offer for sale and/or sell merchandise bearing the Ergo designs or the Signature Patchwork designs,” the lawsuit said.
The lawsuit includes claims of trademark infringement and unfair competition.

Target is pleading ignorance on this one, with a spokeswoman claiming “We are currently looking into this situation and working with our vendor partner.

“It always has been – and continues to be – Target’s policy to respect the intellectual property rights of others.”
It’ll be interesting to see how this case goes. We’ve seen the luxury labels take down many small bag brands creating obvious counterfeits, but a firm with the might of Target may be another story.
