LUXURY fashion house Balenciaga is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its iconic Balenciaga First bag and has launched two limited-edition bags to celebrate.

The leopard print pieces were inspired by Cristobal Balenciaga’s archive and feature unique metal tags with engraved detailing.

Good news comes for Davidoff watches: this low-key brand has released a new Gent Chronograph GMT watch which is quite nice-looking and exquisite.

This new Davidoff watch comes with an oval shaped case that reminds me of the Audemars Piguet Millenary Carbon One Tourbillon Chronograph-though the case design is actually not the same. This case is 46mm at diameter and is crafted from stainless steel. The watch has fitted two sapphire crystals: one at front featuring anti-reflective coating, and the other at the rear allowing a view to the brand’s signature automatic rotor. The case is water resistant to 50 meters.

The watch has lots of intriguing aspects such as the nice engravings and textures on the dial, the chapter ring and the patially skeletonized lugs. These designs are not innovative but look very nice on this watch. To my knowledge, they are actually inspired by other better-known brands. Obviously, Davidoff is well in doing mosaic job. The gray dial is very pleasant to look at with subtle use of special red tone. And the watch is completed by a brown alligator strap which works well with the dial color.

Beating inside the watch is a Swiss automatic Valjoux 7750 with a Soprod 753024h module that offers the GMT complication There is an 24 hour chapter ring for the GMT function.

Overall, this is a very nice watch that deserves more attention than it has gotten.

Balenciaga is killing me with all the fabulous purses they are selling, and I’m not referring to the classic “Motorcycle” bags (although those are always fabulous).

Perforated Balenciaga Bags

The Balenciaga Motorcycle Bags are mainly known for their wonderfully distressed leather, the limited seasonal shades they come in, and hardware details. But this season, the design house of Balenciaga has added a few new twists to their handbags, with one being an outline of perforations. Pictured above are two perforated bags from the upcoming fall season. When I first saw these, they instantly appealed to me. I thought these little decorative perforations were a great pattern to accent the leather with. I think Bal made a good move by making these subtle and not over the top.

However, if I was going to finally get a Balenciaga City bag, would I buy a perforated piece? I thought about it and decided that even though I admire Bal’s creativity, I think I would still stick with the traditional bags. I have a feeling that these might be a little on the trendy side, and that is why I wouldn’t actually purchase one. And besides, you can’t go wrong with a classic Balenciaga! Anyways, as far as pricing goes, I’m not exactly sure what these are marked at. Though I’m sure they’re higher then the traditional Bal bags.
