Charles L Thomas may not have the star clout of a Louis Vuitton or Christian Dior, but for replica bag lover that’s a very good thing. While those fashion handbags can easily cost a four-figure sum, this sexy Sandy retails for just $399.
The Sandy is every bit as eye-catching as a high-end designer creation. The almost trapezoidal shape is so unique, with its clean curved lines and structured design. The subtle texture of the cross grained Italian leather reminds me of Louis Vuitton’s Epi bags. The finish is accented with muted crocodile trim, embossed of course to keep the price down.
A triangular flap gives an envelope appearance, with a silver and rhinestone brooch mimicking an antique seal. There’s a lot going on, but Charles L Thomas ensures the elements never look too busy by keeping the colors subtle and classic.
The Sandy should be large enough for your daytime essentials, but forget about the luxuries. The structured shape may look chic, but it isn’t made for overstuffing. Zip and slip pockets are trimmed with leather for extra durability. There’s also a handy leather key-ring strap, so you’ll always know just where you left your car keys.
The braided strap probably won’t feel as comfortable as flat leather, but it does give the Sandy a fresh, contemporary look. In a world where designer handbags often start to look the same, it’s inspiring to see new designers like Charles L Thomas shaking things up a little.
Very rarely do I find myself speechless. Yet at this very moment, I do feel like I am bordering on the verge of speechless. For the life of me I cannot decide if this luxurious handbag is a complete disaster or a bit of handbag genius. (Make sure to click on the image to get an enlarged view.) At first glance I definitely found myself saying “oh no, no, no, NO!”. As I kept looking, I started wondering which celeb or socialite might actually be able to pull off this look. The Thomas Wylde Ibiza Suede Bag is without a doubt a fashion handbag made for a very select group of people. Taupe suede, pewter hardware and obviously fringe and bead detailing galore makes this replica bag what it is – a lot to look at. In relation to all of the embellishments on the leather bag, it seems rather small (Width 7″; Height 9″; Depth 4″; Handle Drop 25″). Moreover, what would you wear this with? The only thing I could think of was a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt or blouse and sandals or cowboy boots? And wait just a second, take a look at the price tag! So back to my initial question is this a disaster or genius? Buy through Net-a-Porter for $2200.

Paula Thomas is at it again! This time around, however, her would be hit just might be a total miss. Introducing the Thomas Wylde Henna Nailhead Stud Bag. No skulls, no spiders, no spikes… heck, it’s not even black. This bag does have studs though! But the studs were used to create a dainty floral design. Hmm… this doesn’t really look like a Thomas Wylde handbag, does it? Personally, I’m having a hard time taking this all in. If I wanted to buy a Thomas Wylde bag, I would at the very least expect it to have skulls. I mean, isn’t that what Thomas Wylde is all about? I suppose this bag isn’t terrible, but it just isn’t what I would have expected from this designer handbags. Plus the shape sort of reminds me of a hot dog in a sling. Sorry Paula, but flowers just aren’t your thing. How does everyone else feel?
The Thomas Wylde Henna Nailhead Stud Bag is available in Pumice. It measures 20″ x 12″ x 7″ and it retails for $3,900 (EEK! Now that IS scary!). It comes complete with a tassel zipper pull and Swarovski crystal accents.
Paula Thomas is at it again, bringing us yet another Thomas Wylde clutch with a skull theme. However, this time around she has put a little bit of a spin on the skull theme with the new Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch. This lovely clutch, named for the Mexican (and Latino) holiday that is celebrated by many people all over the world, is covered with tiny skull-shaped studs. This fold-over style clutch is composed of distressed black leather, something Thomas Wylde handbags are known for. What I find most interesting about this clutch, however, is the double chain strap. The two straps are separate from one another and completely removable. The straps are also of different lengths. So you can wear the clutch with two straps, one strap, or none at all.
When it comes to the Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch, I find myself having some mixed feelings. I love the simple, unstructured shape and the fold-over styling. I also like the tiny skull studs. But when I look at this clutch, I also think it could have been a little bit better. Instead of gold hardware, I would have liked to have seen this clutch with silver or gunmetal hardware. I’m not sure what it is, but for some reason, when I think of rocker-chic I think of black paired with silver or gunmetal hardware. But maybe that’s just a generation thing.

Charles L Thomas replica has turned my head with the Cynthia Bowler and Sandy Shoulder Bag, but the brand fails to inject that same spark into the Donna.
Jungle Java, Forest Moss, and Jungle Moss sound exotic, but these deep green shades look a little drab on the oxford fabric. The snake embossed trim seems like it’s meant to glam things up, but it actually looks a little tacky. Perhaps it’s a case of overkill here: I don’t mind the straps and trim around the top, but the belted accents add unnecessary clutter.
The saving grace is the interior, which offers just what busy girls need. There’s so much space, and the boxy design ensures you can access every inch of it. One wall has a large zippered pocket, while the other has side-by-side cell and slip pouches. They’re all framed with leather to stand up to everyday use. If you’re still struggling for storage space, or simply want a place to store those goodies you need on hand, there’s another zippered pocket on the back.
But the underwhelming style makes me reluctant to part with $359 to snap this practical purse up. The clever design may win me over in time, but I’m looking for instant attraction instead!
In commenting on one of my previous posts over on the Forum, our lovely member gacats mentioned a piece of classic style advice that I think many people (designers and fashionistas included) have totally forgotten lately: when dressing, always remove one accessory before leaving the house. It may sound a bit conservative to some folks, but it’s a great way to ensure that you don’t look like a fashion victim or someone wearing a costume. Now, if only certain bag designers would take that advice. Consider the Thomas Wylde Colossus Scorpion Bag, for instance. There are things about this bag that I love – the leather looks so soft that I have the strange urge to rub it on my face, the bike-chain handle is a cool, industrial touch, as are the spikes at the handle attachment, and the overall effect is full of edgy-but-fashionable personality that could really do wonders for the average outfit. And then…there are the scorpions emblazoned on the front in silver studs. I know that’s sort of Thomas Wylde’s thing, with the random stuff depicted in studs, but I wish his look would evolve a bit and maybe become a little more subtle. This bag would still have attitude to spare without the bugs on it, and with them, it seems just a wee bit silly. Part of me also thinks it looks a lot less luxurious than it could – the scorpions break up all that delicious, wonderful, touchable leather. So, Thomas Wylde, please consider heeding some sage advice – next time you get the urge to put bugs on a purse, let it pass.
Typically if you are going to attempt to sell an expensive handbag, you will also attempt to take a decent picture. This way the potential buyer will understand and be able to visualize the bag more. Barney’s, I love you, but this picture is that of deplorable quality. The Thomas Wylde Oxford Circus Handbag may very well be rocker-chick meets sophisticated chic but we will never know because of the picture. Thomas Wylde handbags are a growing hit with their skull detailing and rebellious touch, yet a picture truly is worth 1,000 words. Whether or not this was Barney’s idea or Wylde’s herself (doubtable), this is a major bag turn-off. Either way the Thomas Wylde Oxford Circus Bag is designed with Oxford Circus supple leather, skull rivet and zipper pull details, and thick grungy chain double handles. Measuring 14″x9″x12.5″, the size is great, the materials seem great, and the bag unbeknownst to all may truly be great- but the attempt at an artistic touch with shadowing and a bag hanger needs to go when advertising an expensive hot bag to an online crowd. Via Barney’s for $2,360.
