Ladies and gents, I need you to weigh in here. I cannot decide whether or not this Yves Saint Laurent handbag is genius or simply not enough for what you are paying for.
Yves Saint Laurent is one of those brands, one of those brands that is almost always worth a second look. This is the case because the first look might take you in the wrong direction, but the second look, the second look could reveal sheer genius. While I want that to be the case here, I just don’t think that is the case.

The thing about the Yves Saint Laurent Yes Large Leather Bag is that it actually is a bit of genius. It is the kind of day-to-day genius that so many bags lack sometimes. This bag is slouchy, yet structured. The colors are neutral, yet versatile. But, is it worth the price? I love handbags, I really do. And I have no problem spending big bucks on a bag I love, but is this bag worth it’s price tag?
The olive-green leather tote has a contrast pale-green leather trim and two pale green handles. You might not be able to tell, but if you press the studs at the side, you can actually adjust the size of the handles – always a nice, understated detail. Clearly the replica bag is functional, and it is also fashionable, but I am stuck on the price. I can see tons of women carrying this bag and loving it – loving it for seasons to come, but I have some reservations.

If you thought environmentally-friendly fashion meant organic totes and recycled candy wrapper bags, Yves Saint Laurent is here to prove you wrong. The label has taken the idea of using recycled materials and gone in a new direction for couture.
Under the design direction of Stefano Pilati, YSL has released a new collection called “New Vintage” that constructed entirely from leftover cotton drill from past inventories. It’s a clever and creative idea for sustainability and something I didn’t really expect from the brand.
Within the classic collection, first unveiled at retail store Barneys, you’ll find simple dresses and trench coats as well as sandals and a redesigned version of the Downtown tote. The colors palette is pleasantly simple with earth tones and light pinks and blues.
Pilati explained, “‘New Vintage’ is my way to reflect our social and economic state by capitalizing on existing resources to translate sustainable ‘values’ into ‘forms.’”
Though the fabric is recycled leftovers, don’t expect the price to reflect that. The collection ranges in price from $495 to $4,100.

kylie-minogue-handbag
This is a woman who always has a smile on her face. She has attributed her upbeat attitude on life for helping her cope with breast cancer. This sassy survivor is a shining example to all women that life is worth fighting for and giving up is not an option.
I’m always fascinated by her handbag choices. She loves the classics but isn’t afraid to shake things up. Her latest love, the YSL Easy Y Satchel, is a classic in the making. The simple design features rolled leather handles, gold-tone hardware, dual zip top closure and side snap tabs.
A large, tonal “Y” stitched on the front (but thinner than the “Y” on the ‘Muse’) serves as the only decorative element as well as the all-important label identifier. We know that’s not the reason Kylie loves this bag, though.
She’s probably in love with the soft, pebbled leather and fun turquoise color. For $1195, the YSL Easy Y Satchel is a good buy, and if Kylie likes it then that’s enough of an endorsement for me. Stay healthy, Kylie.

It seems to me that Christy Turlington is one of the hardest working models in the fashion world right now. Just as her Bally fall 09 commercial is revealed, we’re already seeing her face again in ads for another label.
While Turlington might be the perfect Bally woman, she’s also glamming it up for Yves Saint Laurent. Following previous rumors alluding to the collaboration, the 40-year old supermodel stars in YSL’s fall/winter advertising campaign for 2009-2010.
One of the things I love about the ads, besides the gorgeous bags and clothes the model showcases, is the sleek style of the set. Forget European landmarks or natural settings, this Stefano Pilati designed campaign features only the label’s items, Christy, and a black logo frame against a white background. The result is striking and dramatic.
Bravo to the major labels who are featuring these experienced, mature (if not impossibly ageless) models from the past. Turlington looks as fabulous as ever here for Yves Saint Laurent and will surely continue to do so for many more years.

Yves Saint Laurent handbags is basically royalty among fashion design bags houses. The sleek elegance of his designs combined with impeccable materials results in accessories that really sing to modern women.
I don’t want to go around saying things like “gray is the new black,” but it is everywhere this fall, from nail polish to leather jackets to evening gowns and right back to this delicious evening bag by YSL. You don’t usually see gray paired with gold, and the effect is quite a striking one. Gray may not be the new black, but it is every bit as glamorous and versatile.
The structured box shape is one that I really like in evening bags, particularly when they offer as much depth as this one. Three inches may not seem deep in the greater scheme of things, but it’s pretty generous in the world of clutches. And when everything else I want to fit in my evening bag is boxy-compact, lipstick, PDA-it just makes sense that my bag should be boxy, too.
What really makes this fashion bag stand out is the huge yellowy gold-toned clasp on the front, and the chunky chain strap. They contrast gorgeously with the gray, and have almost architectural details by way of two large screws. Whether the rest of your outfit is basic black or neon brights, this Luxury handbag is sure to stand out against it.
It’s that time of year again! The leaves have fallen and the weather is turning colder. Thanks giving is just around the corner and Christmas will be here before we know it! Oh my, where has the year gone? It seems like just yesterday that I was having to remember to write 09, instead of 08, when writing the date on my checks.
With the days passing by so quickly, it may be a good idea to start thinking of potential Christmas gifts for that special someone. Nothing, in my opinion, is worse than waiting until the last minute. So what do you think ladies? Would your significant other enjoy a new wallet this year? Personally, I think my husband could use a new one. Of course, he would probably disagree with that. Something can be completely worn out and he will still refuse to get rid of it. But don’t worry ladies, I can be very persuasive when I need to be. Hehe… I’ll simply throw it out myself when he’s not looking! Okay, okay, maybe I won’t.
But in the mean time, I would like to share with you some of my top wallet picks. And don’t worry, I tried to include a little something for everyone.
Happy shopping!

Just in time for the holidays. How great of a gift would this be to the one you love.. a one of kind Roady!
For a limited time only, YSL handbags is giving their clients in the New York and Los Angeles area the opportunity to purchase a customized Roady. Also I have to mention, as it’s worth noting, this isn’t your traditional customization. The boutiques will have artisans on hand customizing the handles – choose from a number of precious skins (ostrich, crocodile and lizard) in a variety of colors, with a total of 29 different handles offered, each in limited quantity. The handle will be changed in the boutiques and be ready by the following day. And for further personalization, you can even have the replica bag monogrammed inside with initials or even a sweet message – this part totally complimentary.
Yves Saint Laurent’s latest “It” bag, the Roady, shot to fame on the arms of glamorous celebs like Rihanna, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, and Leighton Meester. Now the in-demand purse will get a personalized makeover for shoppers in America’s fashion capitals, Los Angeles and New York City.
The Roady already comes in a variety of shapes and colors, including black nappa and vibrant red and blue leathers. But Yves Saint Laurent artesan furriers will further customize the replica bags this month. Roady lovers can jazz up the handles with colored exotic skins, including ostrich, crocodile, and lizard. The lizard is the bargain option at $225, the ostrich will cost $385, and the crocodile clocks in at $515. To further add value, Yves Saint Laurent staff will also embroider your initials inside your Roady for nix.
The customized Roady bags are available in YSL’s Los Angeles and New York boutiques from November 19 to December 1.
Before I say anything, I have to comment on how quickly this year has flown by. I cannot believe it is already November! However, the last few months of the year brings some of my favorite events, holidays and activities. Another one of my favorite things is that with all of the Holiday parties and gatherings I feel as though I have an excuse to beef up my evening bag collection and this makes me happy. So, it should be no surprise that I’ve been spending quite a bit of time trying to figure out which bags I should buy; I can always figure out my outfit afterwords.

One of the bags on my evening bag list is the Yves Saint Laurent Small Satin Chain-Strap Bag. As soon as I saw it a few months ago, I knew it would look great with so many outfits. This dark gray satin bag is elegant and exquisite. Then add the chunky gold-tone chain and you have a bit of an edgy feel going as well. The 8″ handle drop isn’t long enough to throw over your shoulder, and in fact it might look a little silly, but that doesn’t change the fact that this bag would be gorgeous carried in your hand. Certainly it is nothing too flashy, but it certainly is a lovely and timeless bag.
