To print or not to print, that is the question. With the Gucci Spring ‘06 Cruise Line being released we see the use of patterns and prints to take over and give off some tropical flair. While I love the shape of this bag, I don’t find it very practical. Gucci wants to welcome spring with the Gucci Spring ‘06 Medium Shoulder Bag. The tropical print you find of this Gucci bag is labeled the pigna print which looks like pineapples and bananas, but in a sort of abstract art. Yes, my description is lacking a bit, but nevertheless you understand what I mean (and if not you can see what I mean through the picture). The shape of this bag lured me in when I was recently in the Gucci store. Brown leather trim and braided handles set the patterned body off nicely along with goldtone hardware. If you are one of the ladies, much like my mom, who likes a bag to hang comfortably on the shoulder bag and not “ride up”, then this replica bag will suit you well. Measuring 13″H X 17″L X 4 戮”W, this bag is cute for spring but to me isn’t completely practical.
When I first saw the Gucci G Coin Medium Hobo, I couldn’t help but think that the whole thing seemed kind of sedate for the Gucci aesthetic. I know that the replica brand has plenty of simple, clean-lined bags at a variety of price points, but whenever I see one of them, it just seems like they’re missing the point of being Gucci, for cryin’ out loud.
I’m one of the horde of Tom Ford fangirl holdouts, although I enjoy what Frida Giannini is doing with the handbags brand more and more as the seasons go on. In fact, when I disregard the brand, I like what this bag has going on quite a bit.
The look this bag pushes is very tame, I’ll admit, but it’s also mature and not too showy. The namesake coin is the only branding that I can see from where I’m sitting, and the choice of shiny hardware instead of matte gives it a small pop of Gucci glam. As always, I also can’t say no to a good red bag. Good red is, after all, so hard to find.

guccijackie
has got it right with its latest advertising campaign for their Jackie collection. The fashion house has abandoned exotic locales and color, preferring instead to keep it simple.
Gucci
Polish beauty Anja Rubik stars in this basic black shoot captured by the legendary photographic duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. But the main focus is that gorgeous Jackie handbag.
This season’s Jackie maintains its famous bamboo details, but there are some exciting changes for bagistas. Gucci has experimented with leathers, releasing a gorgeous metallic with a violet hue, and black and khaki python purses. It’s also available in a new size, giving purse fans even more choice.
The Jackie is available in 12 different versions. You’ll see it in Gucci boutiques and all the usual retail outlets this fall. There’s no word on pricing yet, but you can expect those snakeskin handbags won’t be cheap! At least we’ve got a little time to save our pennies!

The House of Gucci definitely gave their 100% effort, and more, to stand out from all the other premium handbags designers for this coming fall season. Have you Bagista’s seen their latest designs? All I have to say is… wow! Personally speaking, my wow is actually an “amazed-at-how-much-detail-and-studding-was-applied-to-their-goods”, wow. Check out their collection over at Saks (dot com). Pictured above is just one of the many new accessories by Gucci bags, meet the Large Babouska Hobo. To break it down a bit, it’s basically a simple monogrammed classic hobo with some dangling suede fringe and a couple of pounds of brass studding appliqué. I don’t know what you ladies think about this Babouska collection, but it’s a bit too tacky for my taste. You see, I can do monogram, but not monogram with constant layers of studs! I do dig the heart-shaped Gucci crest (which happens to be a Gucci newbie for quite some time) and the seventeen by fifteen inch dimension of the hobo is also suitable for my daily needs. Now, I don’t completely dislike Gucci’s Babouska line and I can see how some ladies would choose to carry a piece of this line, but when it comes to my personal preferences, I would much rather prefer something a bit less flashy, and lighter in weight!

Gucci Hysteria Purse in Magenta!
If you fashionista’s don’t already know, right now over at Saks Fifth Avenue there is yet another big sale which includes incredible prices on premium designer goods! Unfortunately, this pretty gem cannot be found on Saks’ sales rack (I wish), but it is available for its original retail price tag of $1,650. If you don’t already know, this is the Small Hysteria Top Handle Bag by Gucci. How do you ladies feel towards this bag? Personally, I love it. I adore the whole leather body and how it gathers in pleat-form from the bottom to the top. It’s double flat leather handles benefit in carrying the replica bag on the crook of your arm, or if you prefer free hands, its detachable leather shoulder strap should come in handy. I like how perfectly the gold-toned hardware compliments the gorgeous leather hue. Those metal crests add the perfect touch and finish the fashion bag off with just the right amount of “bling”, without the bag appearing “tacky”. As I briefly mentioned, the color is amazing and perfect for fall. Overall, I hold nothing but positive feelings towards this classy looking Gucci handbags, dressed up or dressed down, its sure to make some heads turn.

Look at what I found today! If it weren’t for the title letting you know that this piece is by Replica Gucci, I bet you would have never guessed it yourself. Hmm… a nylon tote sporting colorful kiddy designs and leather trimming, does Dooney & Bourke ring a bell? Among the clutter you will find stars, fish, florals, mermaids, waves, shells, birds, butterflies, BEACH, and this list can keep on going… Umm… I don’t know what to say to this. This is upsetting coming from the House of Gucci. With designs like these, I can’t help but wonder if Gucci recruited some Dooney & Bourke “geniuses” to work for them. This is tacky, juvenile, and definitely something I would not want to carry this fall/winter season. One simple leather shoulder strap and logoed identification tags can be found on this tote as well. A $795 price tag for a brand new Gucci sounds fantastic, but in reference to this silly piece, $795 is extremely over exaggerating when Dooney & Bourke offers similar pieces for more than half of Gucci’s asking price. What do you Bagista’s have to say over this tote, and most importantly, would you wear this?
Sometimes I forget how beautiful Gucci’s leather bags are. I spoke last week about how much I normally love their python creations (except for one recent exception), but it took seeing one of their bags on a fellow shopper’s arm while buying a Halloween costume yesterday to remind me that they usually do an obnoxiously good job with leather as well.
The Gucci Pelham Medium Hobo is an excellent example of Gucci’s signature style – textured, supple, and with a bit of color variation that makes all the difference.

The color variation and distressing on this bag are absolutely perfect. It doesn’t look worn or previously used, it simply looks like the leather is lush and high-quality, and that the people who designed it took care to treat it in such a way to bring out its inherent beauty.
And that’s just what they achieved. I doubt that this leather is super soft in person, but it does look like it would be incredibly durable. Combine that with a functional shape and a beautiful medium grey neutral color, this is the sort of bag that so many women would do well to add to their wardrobe. The signature braided handle is a telltale Gucci detail that doesn’t overpower the beautiful finish of the leather.
Following a recent slew of high fashion happenings on the big screen (think Coco Before Chanel, The September Issue, Tom Ford’s directional debut, A Single Man), things had become a little quiet on the film front, so hooray for reports that Angelina Jolie has been secured as the female lead in upcoming flick Gucci.
The starlet looks set to play Patrizia Reggiani, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison in 1995 for arranging a successful hit on Gucci boss – and her ex-husband – Maurizio Gucci. Understandably, the case dominated the fashion gossip columns for years, with Reggiani being dubbed the ‘Black Widow’.
Even before the addition of La Jolie to its cast, the film promised to be a sartorial feast for sore eyes. It will chart the rise and rise of the glamorous Gucci empire – which was founded in 1921 – in the ’70s and ’80s, through to the controversy in which it became mired in the ’90s.
Further details remain thin on the ground but it is believed that the film, which will be made by Fox 2000 and directed by Ridley Scott, will begin production next year – and that Leonardo DiCaprio has been approached to play the part of Maurizio.
