Ladies and gents, I need you to weigh in here. I cannot decide whether or not this Yves Saint Laurent handbag is genius or simply not enough for what you are paying for.

Yves Saint Laurent is one of those brands, one of those brands that is almost always worth a second look. This is the case because the first look might take you in the wrong direction, but the second look, the second look could reveal sheer genius. While I want that to be the case here, I just don’t think that is the case.

The thing about the Yves Saint Laurent Yes Large Leather Bag is that it actually is a bit of genius. It is the kind of day-to-day genius that so many bags lack sometimes. This bag is slouchy, yet structured. The colors are neutral, yet versatile. But, is it worth the price? I love handbags, I really do. And I have no problem spending big bucks on a bag I love, but is this bag worth it’s price tag?

The olive-green leather tote has a contrast pale-green leather trim and two pale green handles. You might not be able to tell, but if you press the studs at the side, you can actually adjust the size of the handles – always a nice, understated detail. Clearly the replica bag is functional, and it is also fashionable, but I am stuck on the price. I can see tons of women carrying this bag and loving it – loving it for seasons to come, but I have some reservations.

We are self-proclaimed Alexander McQueen fans here at handbagworld.org. And this bag is no different.

The Alexander McQueen Leather Biker Satchel infuses a design that I wasn’t completely in love with to make a bag that is speaking to me. With all of the pockets and zippers from the Alexander McQueen Leather Biker Tote and the laid-back satchel style, I am loving this bag from Alexander McQueen. Confession: Amanda wrote about a grey version of this bag before and thought it was a misstep from McQueen. I too felt like that bag was lacking something. Actually, in grey it is completely blah for me.

Not only is this bag killer in both black and electric blue, but it gives the bag an entire new appeal and look. In fact, I can’t believe the grey version is the exact same replica bag as this one. I would have bet it was not. In black/blue I am sold. I need more satchels in my life and this is the perfect example. The bag has a long shoulder strap, with a 14″ drop, for you to sling the bag over your arm. There are top handles as well, but like I said before, I am all about the long shoulder strap. The body shows of multiple pockets and silvertone snaps, bringing that edgy look McQueen is known for. On the outside there is two zipper pockets and one snap pocket while the inside boasts a zipper pocket and open pocket.

The grey just looks way to safe and lame, but the black leather brings back the edge and the blue is that pop of rocker color that McQueen wearers can rock.

Balenciaga breaks with tradition with this Whistle Handbag. The label’s typical bold hardware and long tassels are gone, replaced with luxury leathers and a slouchy barrel shape.

The name comes from the shiny engraved whistle which hangs from the fashion bag. Unlike so many gimmicks, this small whistle is endearing rather than obnoxious. It makes me think I could instantly alert passersby the moment I was threatened in a dark alley, or perhaps be a sexy police officer ready to halt a crime in progress!

The Whistle comes in a range of fabrics, from this luxury combination of lambskin with exotic trim, a lush goatskin, or the more casual (and less expensive) canvas variety. Unzip the top to reveal a generous lined interior. The shape reminds me of a gym bag, and there’s probably the space to use it for just that. I just couldn’t put my stinky trainers in anything so luxurious! I only wish there were the organizational features to match. A lone zippered pocket just isn’t enough to keep such a large space in order.

Target Sold a Fake Coach Purse. Gets Sued!

Target was just slapped with a new lawsuit by Coach Inc., accusing them of selling unauthorized reproductions of their handbags. This is the second time within three years that Coach has taken Target to court over the same intellectual property issue.

The bags mentioned in the lawsuit are Coach’s famous Ergo and Signature Patchwork purse collection.

Take a second good look at this, as it’s not what it seems to be.  I was utterly shocked at their latest handbag design, the 4 Sided Birken. No, I didn’t misspell anything, I’m not making this up, and I’m not pointing fingers either, but can you all see the resemblance to the French Couture Brand Hermes Birkin? Top handle straps, secure flap, square-ish silhouette, and leather body?!

I would never be caught dead carrying a fake and even designer inspired luxury handbags are a big NO in my book. Clearly, the infamous Birkin inspired Slow and Steady’s version. It’s no surprise how a Hermes Birkin can cost the average person a kidney and their first born, surprisingly, the Slow & Steady’s Birken doesn’t run cheap as it carries a steep price tag of $1,100! Personally, I’d rather save my pennies for years to buy the original Hermes Birkin!

Chloe Kathleen Shoulder Bag

Is it just me? Or is Navy Blue making a comeback in the world on luxury handbags? Chloé certainly seems to think so! Meet the Kathleen Shoulder Bag! Now no offense to anyone out there, but for some reason I used to always associate navy with grandma. Why? Well, for some reason my grandma liked to carry around a navy handbag that matched her navy shoes that matched her navy belt that matched her… well, you get the picture. But you know what, I’m actually starting to warm up to the whole navy handbag thing. It can be such a pretty color, like a clear night sky in the summer time. However, for a bit of a modern twist, I would pair this handbag with black accessories (as seen on the model). As for the gold hardware, I think it looks marvelously chic with this color. What a great bag to wear to the office when you’re just not in the mood for the usual black or brown handbag! Dolce & Gabbana: The Miss Sicily

I currently don’t own any Dolce & Gabbana handbags, but I’ve always loved them. Dolce & Gabbana handbags are always classy, fabulous, and very expensive.

My favorite Dolce & Gabbana bag at the moment is the “Miss Sicily Leather Bag.” It kind of reminded me of the Fendi “Peek-A-Boo” bag, which I’ve loved ever since I laid eyes on it.

This bag is a great everyday, sophisticated bag. I could totally envision a doctor, lawyer, or some type of business woman carrying this bag around. To me, this luxury bag screams professional. I would expect to see this luxury bag on a desk in an office, or having a woman in a suit holding it.

At the same time though, I can see a fashionista sporting this bag around too. This is a bag that I could see myself using when I’m well put together, or put a lot of thought into my outfit. To me, this luxury bag is way too fancy looking to go with the whole casual look but of course that’s just my opinion.

The only thing I don’t like about this bag is the front flap closure. By looking at this bag with that type of handle, I would of thought it opened and closed at the top. Having a flap seems odd to me for this type of bag. The bag is on the small side, so why not have it open on the top for easier access? The bigger version of this bag does open on the top, which seems like the smarter way to open and close this bag. Other than that, this is one fabulous bag!

The Dolce & Gabbana “Miss Sicily Leather Bag” can be purchased at Nordstrom for $1,895. The price is very high, but I wouldn’t expect any less from Dolce & Gabbana. Most Dolce & Gabbana bags are expensive, since they are made in Italy. Expensive or not, the bag is beautiful!

Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor is one lucky lady. Her Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna co-star Salman Khan recently gave her a luxurious Dolce & Gabbana handbag!

The pair recently indulged in a little Handbags shopping during a break in filming in Australia. Kareena fell for the designer bag, and Salman was only too happy to oblige!

I’m impressed by Salman’s generosity, but I wonder whether Kareena’s long-term boyfriend Saif Ali Khan feels the same way!

Though not traditionally seen as a winter fashion color, white has slowly made its way into the range of cool weather accessories. According to trendsetters and fashion handbags magazines, the days of post-Labor Day storage of white shoes and handbags are gone. I, for one, am glad to include white as an established fall and winter color.
